Model of Governance & Administrative Structure

 

District Health Advisory Council - District Health Advisory Councils are a forum of ensuring community input is available to the Regional Health Authorities.  Regional Health Authorities are required to establish at least one and not more than four Councils in their representative regions unless otherwise approved by the Minister of Health

Provider Advisory Committee - These committees are multi-disciplinary in nature and advise the Regional Health Authority Board and/or the Chief Executive Officer on matters related to health services.

Other Advisory Committees - The structure of these committees varies depending on the organizational structure of the health region.   Their membership may consist of consumers and the public.  Examples of these committees include regional mental health councils, healthy communities committees, and services to seniors.
