Nurses Recruitment The Nurses Recruitment and Retention Fund was
established in 1999 to support one-time funding costs for specific strategies or
initiatives to attract and keep Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and
Registered Psychiatric Nurses in Manitoba, and to promote nursing as a profession.

Retention
A range of continuing education courses and other initiatives has been
approved. Examples include adult and neonatal/paediatric critical care courses, a
perioperative nursing course, a primary skills course for nurses from designated northern
nursing stations, and funding to develop LPN bridging.
Refresher Courses for LPNs, RPNs, and RNs
In order to qualify you require:
- An enrollment date on or after April 1, 1999
- Agreement to remain in Manitoba in a nursing position for at least one
year.
